The Brooksville, FL woman found guilty last month of killing Dexter and Drake was sentenced today and, despite her request for probation, was taken off to jail.
Dexter kitten gained worldwide support as he tried to recover from a brutal beating last year. Today his accused attacker was found guilty of the abominable crime.
After months of pretrial hearings and delays, jurors were selected and Wilana Frazier’s animal abuse trial began today for the killings of Dexter and Drake, kittens beaten with a metal bat in a Brooksville, FL park in June, 2011.
Wilana Frazier appeared at yet another pretrial hearing on Friday. The judge was visibly displeased with her and told her she would go to trial in April or May for the brutal killing of kittens Dexter and Drake.
SB 618, or Dexter’s Law, would institute an animal abuser registry in the state of Florida. The legislature will consider whether to enact it.
