Venkman hasn’t got much use for beer, but he likes to nap on the cardboard cases. And he has a cool cat posse. They’re so popular that some people take the tour at Chicago’s Empirical Brewery just to see them.
They call her “Little Bear.” A small but fearless feral cat has made friends with a 550-pound black bear named Sequoia at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary.
The cats watch every morning for the pickup truck to show. Most of them are feral, but many suspect others have been abandoned by their owners in a nearby park. On this morning, when the truck arrives, the purring commences.
So what do cats, rats, grain, and beer have in common besides the makings of a good bar joke? Well, believe it or not, it’s no laughing matter for many breweries as rats find the grain used to make the favored brew most delicious.
