Councilman Elzie Clements of North Texas is continuing his efforts to evict Browser the library cat. Browser lives in a library in White Settlement, and he takes care of any mice in exchange for his housing.
But in June, Clements decided that the library didn’t need a cat living in it, and fought to have Browser evicted. Clements won his argument, but in the light of online protest of the decision, Mayor Ronald Moore decided to reinstate Browser that July.
Clements lost his bid for re-election to the council this year, and is currently serving out the rest of his term. But he still believes that Browser has no place in the library, and wants to bring up the issue of evicting Browser again this December.
As for Browser? He’s unconcerned with the matter and seems quite happy in his home in the library.
