Gifford Cat Shelter is seeking donations to off-set the costs for Tabitha. While her history is unknown, she and her kittens came to them via a rescuer, getting them quickly set up in a foster home.  By all accounts, the brood looked happy and healthy and GCS anticipated getting Mom and kittens into forever homes.  However, while the kittens are growing as expected, Tabitha was losing weight and not eating.   X-rays revealed she had a bowel obstruction,  a complication that resulted from her pregnancy.

The veterinarian was concerned that if she did not have surgery immediately, Tabitha might not make it another 24 hours.  Wanting to give this beautiful cat the opportunity for a good life in a happy home was paramount, so emergency surgery was just conducted and Tabitha is now back at the shelter with the hope she will make a full recovery.

Tabitha’s procedure was very expensive, but the Gifford Cat Shelter felt it had to be done and are actively soliciting donations.  If you are able to help, please go to their PayPal Donation Page.  Costs for Tabitha have hit the $5000 mark, so any assistance would be most appreciated and any funds collected over that amount will be used to help other cats in need.
