Eleven-year-old Mojo and Max, 16, had been friends for most of their lives. But when they were dropped off at the Anne Arundel County Animal Control in Millersville, Maryland, their future was uncertain. Then things began to look up for one of the senior cats. “About a month ago, this lady adopted Mojo,” a posting on the shelter’s Facebook page explained. She took Mojo home, and everything was going well, except for one little thing. “Mojo has been a wonderful pet,” she said. Still, “she couldn’t get Max out of her mind.”

The day after Christmas, she went back to the shelter, adopted Max and reunited the two old friends who will spend their golden years together. “The thought of him living out his life in a cage just broke my heart,” she said.

The posting ends with this comment: “Have great lives together, Max and Mojo!”
