Mutual Rescue has once again created an inspirational video and shared the following:

In this powerfully inspirational story, we follow a brave young soldier from a battlefield in Iraq, where he sustained traumatic injuries in a mortar attack, to Fort Riley, Kansas. There, during a thunderstorm, a kitten suddenly appears to save the soldier’s life, then later disappears, only to reappear at another pivotal moment in both their lives.

“Even before he was my cat, before he even knew me that well, Scout saved my life. He put me on a different path. He gave me the confidence to try to come back from all the adversity that I was feeling.” — Josh Marino

“‘Josh & Scout’ is an outstanding film—emotionally absorbing, memorable, shareable, and relatable. As one who works with veterans in Texas, I firmly believe this Mutual Rescue film will impact numerous stakeholders: the veteran who is lost in that fog we all walk through at some point, the family member who is trying to understand what is going on, and the caregiver or support-network member who may be frustrated at speed or lack of progress in rebuilding resilience. And vast numbers of the American public will get a dang fine success story.” — Anthony Cucolo, Major General (Ret), U.S. Army

“Josh Marino’s intellect, empathy, and compulsion for selfless service make him an excellent example of the quality of people who are serving and who have served in our armed forces.” — Dr. Rory A. Cooper, Director, Human Engineering Research Laboratories, University of Pittsburgh

  1. God bless you and Scout. I know that the furkids do so much for us and it is so obvious that he has done much for you. I’m so sorry for your loss…..I know he is watching over you and will see you again at the bridge. Never give up. There is always someone who needs you.
