A tiny kitten whose eyes were not even opened yet was rescued by firefighters after a mishap left it trapped between floors in a family’s home.

Blackburn, Lancashire UK firefighters rescued a tiny kitten whose mother accidentally dropped him through a hole in the cellar wall when she was moving her litter of six kittens from the ground floor.

After hearing its cries, Hassan Khalid tried for two hours to free the little 3 day old kitten trapped in his home, then called in the local Fire and Rescue Service for help.

Firefighters freed the baby after pulling up floorboards in the hallway of the Bowland Road row house.

Hassan told the Lancashire Telegraph, ““We didn’t notice what had happened for about half an hour and then I heard it miaowing down the hole. My mum was really worried but thankfully the firemen did a great job and we’re really thankful to them.”

“We’re planning to keep him and his siblings now so hope he has more luck in the future.”

Fire and Rescue crew manager Dave Hilliard said: “ Had it been left much longer it would probably not have survived without its mother.”
