The pair was found abandoned together at the end of driveway by animal services. The inseparable pair shared a unique bond, one that Jackie Borum of Hollywood Houndz who adopted the pair, had never seen before. Idgie, a young dachshund, and Ruth, a black and white quadriplegic kitten, named for the lead characters in Fried Green Tomatoes. Idgie is Ruth’s constant guardian, even acting as protector when another dog comes in the door.
As it states on their webpage, “Animals, just like human survivors of abuse, need your love and support.” We are glad they have a forever home and that these two friends, who have been through thick and thin, are together.
