A series of very moving photos by Robert Frank for the South Bend Tribune show a cat being rescued by South Bend, IN firefighters and reunited with its family.

After an impassioned plea from a resident, South Bend firefighters brought the cat, named Little,  from a burning home in the city on Wednesday, gave it oxygen and reunited it with its family.

Sadly, two dogs perished in the fire.

I am happy that Little was saved, and my heart goes out to them for the loss of their dogs and their home. What a horrible fire. That last picture is just astonishing. Their home is a total loss. Thankfully the human family seems to be okay
