Think a hard-edged death metal drummer doesn’t have a soft spot? Think again.
Donald Tardy, drummer for Obituary, takes care of 140 Tampa Bay area feral cats. Tardy said, “It’s kind of wild when you think about it: This crazy metal dude who head bangs and plays death metal spends hours every day feeding and caring for wild cats.” He went on to say, “To think a cat could be out there hungry, suffering, it eats you up inside. I can’t live with my mind at peace knowing that.”
Just to prove there’s no such thing as a stereotypical cat guy, take a look at what Tardy does when isn’t looking after sweet stray kitties:
That is awesome! What a special dude!
Excellent video choice as well 🙂 metal heads are just big softies it’s true.
A man after my heart I left enough food in a hidden place for the Feral”s that I was told I couldn’t feed anymore Hopefully I left enough for 2 weeks
I’m not a heavy metal music fan, but I have to respect the guy for taking care of a feral colony that large. Kudos for him!
Colleen-who told you that you couldn’t feed the feral??
Would like to see more headlines like this.
love it! im glad there is someone else out there that does this too! <3
Don’t judge a book by its cover – heavy metal drummers heart feral cats! Rock on.
That’s awesome~! God bless him and I hope he has help with trapping to do spaying/neutering as well as testing for the nasty diseases cats can get.
Great story, and such an awesome photo accompanying it.
Death metal and cats= perfect combo in my book.
I feed some local strays where I live now
also. The possum has been feasting tho and
is a roly poly now. Lol
