An unusual pair found comfort with one another during the devastating Carr Fires in Northern California. Found by firefighters, a cat and a chicken huddled for safety in a doorway.
Both had multiple burns, requiring treatment, and after getting water from their rescuers, they were transported together in the same carrier to an area animal shelter. Checking back in later, the firefighters learned the pair are on the road to recovery.
