Hull seaside animal rescue’s exclusive Kittendales calendar celebrates 8 years and it’s available now!

The 8th edition Kittendales Calendar to benefit the Hull Seaside Animal Rescue in Hull, MA is now on sale. Local men from all walks of life pose for beefcake shots with kittens and cats for the annual fundraiser.

Photographer Joanne Berman volunteers her talents, and the calendar is a 100% volunteer effort, with all monies going to the shelter.

The calendar is a major fundraiser for the no-kill shelter, which rescues cats and places them in homes, and runs a feral cat TNR program.

Life With Cats readers helped drive sales of the 2012, 2013 and 2014 calendars by sharing our posts and making purchases. We’d love to help with the effort again this year.

The Kittendales project was conceived in early 2007 when the board of directors at Hull Seaside Animal Rescue was brainstorming about how to raise money for their cat shelter. Chris Crotty, one of the founding members of the shelter decided it would be a good idea to put together a calendar of hunky men and cats. The concept was proposed to photographer Joanne Berman, who offered to shoot the calendar at no cost. Susan Davis, a board member at the time, offered to coordinate and gave freely of her time to make the calendar happen.

Susan and Joanne made it their “pet” project, and in the Spring of 2007, their hunt for a few good men began! The response from the guys was overwhelming. Their willingness to donate their time, and desire to be a part of this project, for the benefit of the kitties, was extraordinary.

Kittendales models have included a physician, actor, dentist, teacher, pilot, construction workers, firefighters and personal trainers, among others.

The calendar has become wildly popular over the past few years, with sales across the US and Canada, and as far as the UK and New Zealand.

“This is a 100 percent volunteer project and every penny raised goes directly to the shelter for the care of the cats,” said Joanne Berman, the calendar’s photographer.

The Kittendales Calendar sells for $20 (plus shipping) and is available at either Kittendales.com or Hull Seaside Animal Rescue (hsar.org) . Donations can be sent to Hull Seaside Animal Rescue, 50 L Street, Hull, MA 02045

To order your calendar (or Calendars!) safely, simply and securely through PayPal, use the “Buy Now” button at either site . You can select your quantity before the button takes you to PayPal.

We checked shipping to New Hampshire and to Los Angeles and the cost for either was $5.05.

This year, HSAR launched a gofundme fundraiser to help pay for printing costs for the calendar.

Enough talk! How about a little preview of the Kittendales for 2015?
