Two women took action and rescued an adorable little black kitten when they witnessed him being tossed from a moving car traveling in front of them and going across a bridge in Florida on Monday morning.

When Catherine Russo and Shannon Glover saw something being tossed from the window of a car going over the Roosevelt bridge in Stuart Fl on Monday morning they initially thought it was a hat. It was not. An 8 week old black male kitten had been tossed from the car onto the highway bridge.

As the little cat darted across several lanes of traffic, the women pulled over to help, picking up the kitten and taking him to the Savannah Animal Hospital in Jensen Beach.

“I cannot believe the disrespect for life of anything” said Ms. Russo in reference to the incident, with Ms. Glover adding  “It’s awful. It’s really sad.” The two women got to cuddle and play with the little kitten they saved, though, and to see that, thanks to their efforts, he can go on to be whole and healthy and have a good life.

Veterinarian Dr. Todd Vinoski from the animal hospital says “The cat just, I guess, bounced really well because no problems, no broken bones. We got a little bruise over one eye and a little road rash on an ear, but the cat’s doing real well.”

The kitten’s rescuers describe him as being playful and friendly, as can be seen in the accompanying news video.  Thankfully, watching him here, you would not know the kitten had recently had such a close call.

After a short stay at the animal hospital, kitty will go to a rescue in Hobe Sound and be made available for adoption.

  2. I really don’t understand what the hell is WRONG with people who do things like throw a living creature from a moving vehicle!

  3. Thank God these two angels were there to rescue him!!! What is wrong with people??? How can they do that to an innocent baby. So happy he’s okay.

  4. WHAT IS WRONG with people! If they don’t find value in this precious kitten, what other lives do they not value? Scary thoughts!!!! Obviously this kitty will be much better off and will now have a happy home full of love!

THANK YOU to the women who stopped and rescued the poor scared kitty. THANK YOU to God for placing them there at that precise moment!

  8. If a baby animal can be so coldly mistreated, I’m convinced some people would throw away or leave their children behind, too, if they thought they could get away with it. God bless those angels that rescued the cute kitty.

  10. Thanks to these two wonderful women for saving this baby’s life. Any word on the catching the “person” who “tossed” the kitten out the window of the moving car???? That’s just evil!

  11. poor little creature!!! Thank God for people like these two ladies who took action and saved the little guy =). And to who ever tossed this kitten out onto the highway I wish you nothing but the worst in life!!!!!

  12. They would. I was told a story by the relatiive of a couple who moved while their children were in school. When they came home, everything was gone. Imagine the despair upon knowing that your entire world was gone. There’s no situation that can ever justify abandonment.

  13. I’ve heard this same story time & time again of cats being thrown from car windows. Is it really to much trouble to give it to a shelter or find someone to take it? I swear I just wanna take these people and throw them out of MY car window…doing about 80 mph! MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!!!

  14. Thank you to the two ladies that rescued him. I cannot believe how cruel people can be. So disappointing.

  15. Well those ladies are true heros! Glad you were both there when you were. I hope that the kitty gets a good home. So happy things went so well.
