A woman was reunited with her cat at the scene of a 4 alarm fire that displaced 22 residents of a Fitchburg, Massachusetts triple-decker apartment building on October 31.

The woman clutched her pet – a black kitty wearing a pink collar – close to her as she stood in the street, and someone captured the moment in an image shared by WBZ-TV.

Another cat is seen in a photo by Ashley Green, of the Sentinel& Enterprise, that shows a grey tabby perched on the headrest of the set in a car and facing the window, which has been cracked open to let in a bit of air.

In addition to tackling the fire and helping residents with their pets, Fitchburg firefighters made time for a little boy who came to the scene dressed in a firefighter’s outfit that he may have been planning to wear for Halloween.

The fire is thought to have been started by a malfunctioning ceiling fan in the upper unit of the multi-family Granite Street home.
