Looks like these firefighters have taken a shine to a kitten they rescued from the debris of a house destroyed by an apparent gas explosion.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service posted photos of the kitten getting a chin rub on Twitter, according to ITV News.  Firefighters reported that they rescued the little tabby kitten from the debris, and pledged that: “It’s being very well looked after.”

Two people were seriously injured in the explosion that destroyed the terraced house in the City of Manchester on Monday. Three other people were treated for minor injuries. Somehow this kitten survived it all,  though its ears and nose were singed

No word yet on who owns the kitten and whether anyone has claimed him, but it looks like he’s in good hands.
