Missy is a beautiful black cat from Windsor, VT who has been in the news in New England for the past couple weeks, since she was found shot through with an arrow on August 14. Missy was found at the end of her driveway by her petmom, Maureen Daley, and was taken for care to Small Animal Veterinary Emergency Services (SAVES) in nearby Lebanon, New Hampshire for emergency surgery. The arrow entered through Missy’s chest, puncturing a lung and going through several organs. Veterinarians were able to remove the arrow and repair damage to organs, and Missy has made a full recovery and is back at home.

SAVES veterinarian Dan Kelly told WCAX news that his practice sees numerous cases of animal cruelty.Authorities are investigating the case as a deliberate act of cruelty.

  1. I truly hope that whoever the sicko was that did this to such a lovely cat is punished appropriately. There IS a special place in hell for people like that!

And there is a special place in Heaven for people who love and take care of all our furry, paw-footed friends!

I am so glad Missy is doing so well. Keep her close….especially around Halloween!

  2. The Emergency vet and Missy’s petmom are accepting donations for Missy’s medical bills! I just called and donated. I’m not sure how much her bills are, I didn’t ask. The Vet’s number is (603) 306-0007. Donate if you can!
