Vetstreet announced the top 10 names for male and female kittens for 2014 today.
Vetstreet writes: “As we approach the end of each year, we sort through our database of kittens born since January 1 to discover the most popular names. We looked at 475,297 kitten names, and the list of winners contains a surprise or two we think you’ll enjoy.”
The number 1 name for kittens this year is Bella. The name has held the top spot since 2007, presumably because of its association with the character from the Twilight series of books and movies.
Thanks to the popularity of the movie Frozen, Elsa is at number 5 this year, after not even showing in the top 50 in 2013.
For male kittens, Oliver retained the top spot at number 1, while Charlie, Jack and Kitty all stayed put at the spots they filled in 2013.
