If your cat loves to play with your carpeting, but you don’t appreciate the damage his claws do, then you might want to look into the Ripple Rug. This cat activity mat allows your cat to satisfy his need to scratch, while also allowing him to get into the mat’s inside.

What’s cool about this mat is that it’s made from recycled plastic bottles. So far, 291,000 plastic bottles have been recycled into Ripple Rugs, most of them coming from Albany, New York. The carpet of the rug is designed so that it doesn’t fray, and the holes of the rug even help to groom your cat by collecting hair as your cat moves into and out of the rug.

The Ripple Rug is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign. The idea for the Ripple Rug was born in December of 2014, and thanks to hard work the Ripple Rug began production in September of 2015. Today, 122 United States workers are involved in the production of the rugs, and the companies which work on the rugs are located in four different states.

  1. This is pretty cool…my cats like when I put down newspapers on the floor then put down old sheets and the cats love playing on that…
