Chino’s best friend was heartbroken when the little girl realized he was missing, but thanks to his microchip, he was able to be returned home following his 2000km travels. Though no one knows how the kitty managed to get the distance he did, everyone can agree that the precautions taken by the family paid off beyond their wildest imaginations.

Councillor Adam Belot told the Courier News, “If there’s one thing this heart-warming story highlights, it’s get your animals micro chipped. That way if they ever goes missing, it gives you the best possible chance of finding them again,” after local law officers scanned his microchip and were able to contact his family.

While this story has a very happy ending, it also serves as a reminder of the importance of getting your pet microchipped.
