St. Louis, MO Firefighters rescued a homeowner and two of his cats from their burning home Tuesday afternoon, and treated the cats with a pet oxygen mask at the scene.
Edward Gamble called 911 when his house caught fire after a burn on a neighboring lawn spread out of control. Firefighters rescued him from the second floor of his home and were able to save at least two of his cats. Some local media outlets are reporting that other cats perished in the fire.
Mr. Gamble held onto Jack and Harry outside as Paramedic Matt Sleet delivered oxygen to the cats using a pet oxygen mask.
The home suffered extensive damage to its first floor and Mr. Gamble is being assisted by the Red Cross.
