When a baby squirrel monkey was abandoned by his mother at a zoo, it became the zookeepers’ responsibility to make sure that he received the care he needed. However, a senior cat took it upon herself to help out with the task, adopting the baby monkey.

The zoo, located in Tyumen, Russia, is directed by Tatyana Antropova. Antropova brought the abandoned monkey home with her to care for him, but was surprised to find that her 16-year-old cat, Rosinka, was welcoming to the baby monkey. Rosinka allowed the monkey to climb on her and snuggle down into her body heat.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. As the monkey grows and gains strength, he’s begun to bite at and pinch Rosinka. Rosinka’s been pretty patient, though, and in a month the monkey will be brought back to the zoo to live with the other squirrel monkeys.

One thing’s for sure, though – this pair is absolutely adorable!
