Can’t get enough of Samson the 28-pound Maine Coon cat? You’re not alone. The biggest cat in New York City now has 65,000 followers on Instagram (@catstradamus).
US Weekly declared him the “Internet’s latest feline obsession.” And Inside Edition recently came to his Brooklyn home to get close up and personal with the the laid-back big boy.
He’s made appearances on Good Day New York and Today.com after the New York Post declared him the biggest cat in the Big Apple. And his human, Jonathan Zurbel, has become his official “moew-nager.” Not bad work if you can get it.
The four-year-old Maine Coon eats as many as six cans of wet cat food a day plus freeze-dried chicken, according to Today.com.
He receives daily fan mail and also requests for his sperm, which are politely declined because Samson is neutered.
Zurbel told Today.com that Samson was just a largish 19-pounder until he got a late-in-life growth spurt and became the 28-pound marvel he is today. He’s been called the Fabio of cats. And apparently he doesn’t mind having his photo taken– a lot.
