Tamara Morrison’s black cat Sable has become an honorary crossing guard of sorts for children attending Enterprise Middle School in West Richland, Washington. Sable comes out just before the children arrive in the morning and go back home in the afternoon and waits on a stone patch next to the sidewalk. He greets the children from the safety of the sidewalk but leaves the actual crossing duties to the designated members of the safety patrol. Sable went out to meet the students one day about a year ago and has done so every day since then. He now has his own little safety patrol vest, not seen in the video report below.
