Patches is sweet older girl who has lost her home and needs a kind and caring person to step forward and make it up to her with the love and security she deserves.
Patches is currently in foster care for the Humane Society of Hamilton County in Noblesville, IN, and the shelter turned to social networking with a Facebook page set up last month in hopes of finding her a home.
Pretty Patches at Facebook debuted on May 11, telling Patches story and reaching out in search of her forever home. Despite getting over 1,000 fans, friends and supporters in a month’s time, Patches is still in need of a home.
The effort to place Patches, a mature kitty displaced through no fault of her own, highlights the difficulty in rehoming older pets; companion animals who’ve lost their familiar lives and their former loved ones and are routinely overlooked by adopters.

Patches is a senior cat looking for her forever home. She was surrendered to the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Noblesville, IN when her owner of 15 years was MOVING! She is 15 years young and VERY sweet! Please contact the shelter for details!
Patches is a BEAUTIFUL 15 year old calico cat looking for love. She is quite a sweetheart and trust us when we say she does NOT want to FEEL INFERIOR anymore!!! Patches was surrendered to the shelter because her previous owner was moving.
When Patches arrived she was only 5lbs and she was losing her hair, literally in PATCHES!! Patches is FRONT DECLAWED and spayed. She is now gaining weight and she is a very healthy eater. She would prefer to be the only cat in the home. Patches LOVES to have a nice lap to lay on and a hand to rub up against. She will even do all of the work, she only needs your hand. She took a little time to adjust to being away from her original home but when she did, she has turned into the most loving old lady ever. She is always purring and craving attention.
Patches is part of the PAWS program. This means if you are 55 years or older you can adopt her at a reduced fee.
Patches needs a home, lap and a bed in which to spend her golden years. She will reward you with unconditional love and appreciation. Can you give her the unconditional love she has always deserved but never received from her previous owner?
MAY 13- Hello everyone!! I’m so glad I accomplished all of my things on my to do list today!! Thanks so much for all the help! So let me tell you a little about my journey thus far.
I was surrendered with my brother Tex this year. Both of us are 15 years old. We don’t really get along so we decided not to stay together. I’m afraid of other kitties.
My shelter was worried we would get sick at our shelter and it’s so stressful for a kitty my age. So thankfully we went to a wonderful foster home where we are loved on all the time. Tex does fine with other kitties so he has constant companionship. My foster mommy and daddy LOVE me lots but know that their house isn’t the best way for me to spend my golden years. So here I am looking for my home.
I LOVE to purr, sit on laps, lay in a window, and get brushed. When I arrived at the shelter I was very under-weight and losing my hair on my legs. Now my foster mommy and daddy are fattening me up and my hair is growing back. I never act a day over 5. I really really want to have a forever home and SOON! My foster mommy and daddy will let me stay here until I find my home but know it’s so so so important I find a home soon! I am up to date on shots and have a microchip. My adoption fee is only $35 and that includes a wellness vet visit, my chip being transffered to you, flea and tick preventative, 30 days of pet insurance and SOOOOO much more!! PLEASE consider adopting a senior! We are one of the most overlooked animals in the shelter! PLEASE spread the word and help me find my home!! THANKS!!
JUNE 10 – Only one kitty adoption today and it was a kitten!
There is a slight chance that if I don’t have a home by the end of this month I will have to go back to the shelter to search for my forever home. PLEASE spread the word and help me find a home this month!! Thanks!!!
JUNE 17 – I have over 1,000 friends and still not a single visit or call about me!! What’s a girl gotta do

I donated $50 to the shelter for Patches.
Thank mew for helping my dear furiend Patches! Please help share her story so we can find her a home. Her foster home can only keep her until the end of June and then she will have to go back to the shelter. While they are a great place and nice people she does better in a home environment. PLEASE SOMEONE ADOPT MY FURIEND! TRANSPORT MAY BE ABLE TO BE ARRANGED THROUGH THE UNDERGROUND KITTY RAILROAD IF MEW LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE. SHE’S WORTH IT!!
Poor kitty. It’s a shame when something like this happens. They love us so much and someone like that does not deserve it. I have four kitties myself and have moved several times, always to a place that I find that accepts them. I would never, or could ever, move without them. Just not possible for me. They are my family, where I go, so do they.
