NYPD officers have had a run at rescuing cute kittens from vehicles in the New York City boroughs recently, and pics from the rescues have been turning up at Twitter.
On Tuesday, NYPD 114th Pct., from Astoria, Queens, posted the photo seen here, with Officer Sean Ryan, who spent over an hour rescuing the kitten he’s holding from where it was stuck in a tow truck chassis.
Officer Ryan is covered in grease from crawling under the truck and working for more than an hour to free the kitten and coax him out to safety.
DNAinfo published a story on the rescue today, writing that the precinct said the rescue occurred Sunday night after a passerby called 911 to report a cat trapped in the underside of a truck.
The precinct said one of those who’d gathered to watch the rescue took the kitten home with them.
