Hi Hao surived a long sea journey without food and water earlier this summer. The then 3 month old kitten was nearly unconscious when he was found at the LA County end of the long sea journey across the Pacific from Shanghai, China on July 11. He was taken to the County’s Carson Animal Care Center, where he continues to improve and is regaining the use of his legs.

Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control made this update on Ni Hao yesterday, “DACC is happy to report that Ni-Hao is doing GREAT! He is very playful, active, and has been caught trying to run (although still a bit wobbly in his rear legs). He is improving by the day! Thank you to everyone for your care and concern for this special kitten!”

The kitten in these photos has come a long way from the weak little creature first seen upon his arrival in the US.
