Johnnie was left alone in an empty house with boarded up windows and a disconnected phone. Life has taken a positive turn for this handsome ginger cat, chosen to be among the first to tour the state-of-the-art, all-feline adoption center being built by the Tree House Humane Society.

You can accompany Johnnie as prowls around the new digs, including full-care veterinary facilities and cat adoption rooms with floor-to-ceiling viewing windows.

Johnnie checked out the heated floors, and found them to his liking. No surprise, since Tree House Humane Society of Chicago has been rescuing stray cats for 45 years, and is one of the leading, fullservice no-kill feline rescue centers in the country.

He also got a look at the fully enclosed outdoor catios.

And took a ride on the elevator, but chose not to explore the in-house vet clinic that will include surgical suites and dedicated exam rooms.
