A Guardians of Rescue member found Minx wandering the streets crying, hurt and disoriented after Monday’s Superstorm. The Smithville, Long Island animal rescue group has been working nonstop helping animals in the aftermath of the storm, and has taken responsibility for Minx and her care, along with others.

The group posted at Facebook today, saying “We found her in the street crying while we were out delivering pet food to seniors and picking up a generator. We have no idea what happened to her. She is starving and needs massive TLC. Poor angel is super sweet, and was outside during the storm.

“She is hurt. Covered in open sores. Her mouth is all swollen. She needs to stay at the vet for now. We are going to do what we can, but she is in bad shape. Very thin. We will need a foster, but this next week is critical for her. Please keep her in your prayers.”

Minx is staying at Rocky Point Animal Hospital, where she is being restored with antibiotics, food, a warm blanket and round the clock care.

Minx looks like she was already in need of help before the storm, and now, after the hardship suffered in the brutal hurricane, she is getting the care she needs.  Her friendly demeanor and sweet disposition shine through in the video below.
.
Minx is just one of the many animals in need of rescue and care in storm affected areas. The local groups and shelters doing the work on the ground following Hurricane Sandy can all use help; some need volunteers, all have use for pet food and supplies or cash donations.

  1. I don’t get it. If the neighbors knew this cruel heartless man and his wife owned the cat… what more is needed to arrest him?
