Meteorologist Finds Kitten in Ohio Tornado Debris

Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek found this little kitten in the rubble of the Cedarville, Ohio tornado that hit the area on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

WHIO Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek was out in the field surveying the damage from a tornado that hit the Cedarville, Ohio area on Wednesday, May 14 when he heard a kitten’s meows. He found the kitten and rescued it from the debris. The kitten was then wrapped in a jacket and placed in a News Center 7 truck, to keep it safe and warm.

The little survivor lived through the tornado that destroyed two homes and a barn owned by the Dobbins family, who said the kitten was recently born in the barn. The kitten was reunited with the Dobbins family.
