"Trapped! I'd been stalking this little guy from the parking lot of an apartment complex for two weeks but whenever I had traps out he seemed to disappear entirely into the shadows. It was during a heavy rainstorm I looked out into the middle of a muddy field and noticed a set of glowing eyes staring at me from a pile of cinder blocks."

A series of captioned photos document one kitten’s journey from from an unsocialized feral already leading a rough life to a happy, contented house cat.

Katie Hobson helped Will to transform his life, and writes: “Will is a kitten I trapped while doing a TNR project with a local cat shelter. He was 12 weeks old when I found him on an especially rainy night in August 2014.”

Even though Katie was told that Will was already too firmly feral and incapable of being domesticated, she persisted and completely won him over. Now he is closely bonded with Katie and loves to snuggle.

Katie posted Will’s story, as told in the Imgur photo album below, to Reddit. The photos are also included in the Imgur slideshow at the bottom of the story.
.

"He was pretty pissed at first, in fact the advocate at the animal shelter that was assisting me with the TNR told me when she saw him he was too old and too feral to be tamed..."

"I refused to give up though.. this is the day to day process I went through for two weeks. Every night when I got off work I wrapped him up in a towel and just held him for two to three hours a night kissing his face and telling him how much I loved him. "

"He returned my gratitude by staring at me vehemently and basically hating my guts for a long time LOL. "

"Finally he broke, I knew it had happened when I could hear him purring slightly under the towels! He was not too healthy at this point though and may have just given in from tiredness. "

.

"When I found Will he was covered in fleas, teaming with worms, suffering an upper respiratory and appeared to be recovering from a fight he had with another animal out on the "streets". This was the prep plate of daily medicine I had to force down his throat while also trying to convince him I was his friend ha ha."

.

"In fact that fight earned him a really nasty bite on his back that became infected and filled with pus. I had it lacerated at a vet and made him an impromptu bandage/diaper out of an old sock. "

"Looking for attention you'll notice his clipped ear that is pretty common procedure for TNR so there is a way to track who does and doesn't need trapped in a colony. When he was neutered I asked they didn't clip it but the advocate waved me away (she was still pretty confident I wouldn't be able to tame him)"

"I like to call this picture Will's "smug" look. By this point he iscompletely fine around me and a select few regular faces but if I told you I had another cat in my home you would have never believe it as he immediately "ghosts" it the moment anyone new arrives. Something we still struggle on everyday ."
