Kitten Rescue LA saved a sweet mama kitty and her tiny babies from a high-kill shelter, and we can all watch them on a kitten cam broadcast!
Kitten Rescue is a Los Angeles-based no-kill animal rescue organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. A few days ago, the last group of kittens featured on their Kitten Rescue Live Cam were adopted – wonderful news! Now a new family of cats has been rescued and we can watch them play every day.
The staff of Kitten Rescue tells us a little about them:
The mom cat was dropped off at the North Central Shelter in downtown LA on April 20 with her six newborns. Kitten Rescue took them on April 25, the first day they were available to rescue groups. The family otherwise faced a very grim future – by law the kittens can’t be adopted to the public until they are 8 weeks old, and public shelters don’t have the capacity to keep families there that long, so they end up being euthanized.
Mama is about a year and a half old and has a cute, stubby tail. She is extremely friendly. Five of the kittens are boys, the only girl has the same dilute calico markings as her mom.
The kittens will be up for adoption when they are ready.
Yo can also follow Kitten Rescue at Facebook and Twitter.

Did everybody get adopted? I loved watching the kitties getting bigger – great source of laughter when I really needed it.
