Molly grew up with the family cat Kitty Kitty and adopted her kittens after a car accident claimed the mama kitty’s life. Molly recently had puppies, and is caring for both litters.

Molly is a 2 year old White English Bulldog from the small town of Columbia, AL, and the pet of 84 year old Elbert Bristow.  Mr. Bristow accidentally ran over Kitty Kitty as he returned from an outing and she did not survive. Mr. Bristow feels bad about the loss and hopes at least one of the kittens shows her special sweetness. He plans to find homes for the puppies and kittens, except for one he will keep for himself.

The kittens are kept separate from Molly’s three pups, and the dog maintains a staggered feeding schedule with her two litters of babies.

The elderly gentleman says he has had dogs all his life but has never seen a dog adopt kittens. Of course, Molly and Kitty Kitty shared a familial bond, and Molly is honoring her friend by taking on the duty of mothering her kittens.

Raw video footage from the Dothan Eagle shows Molly with the kittens.

  1. Lovely outcome for a sad event but spay, neuter and note where the mama dog is with the kittens in the video. It’s hard to break the old ways my parents were the same. But she is a wonderful mama dog and RIP Mama Kitty

  2. Nice that the mama dog is helping the kitty’s but I find it troubling that both animals had litters. Additionally how did they each get pregnant. Seems they are not provided with propper security and may be out in the neighborhood, it looks as if they are laying in the drive way. If they are outside pets I find that troubling as well.

  3. Who took this video? Maybe they should be helping to get these poor animals spayed instead of shooting videos .This is just so sad and disturbing.
