The MSPCA (Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Methuen Adoption Center at Nevins Farm shared a short video at Facebook today showing a mama cat nursing a little Chihuahua dog puppy who’d been rejected by her mother.
Mama kitty’s warmth and care allowed the little cast-off pup to thrive until a nursing dog in a foster home could be found.
Nevins Farm staff give thanks and credit to the cat for doing her part to help a baby in need.

‘Love knows no species, and today we present you with video to prove it.
“About 2 weeks ago, the Boston shelter was presented with a very young Chihuahua puppy that had been rejected by it’s mother and was not nursing. Not having any lactating dogs to adopt the young pup, staff got creative and introduced Cookie to a mother cat that no longer had kittens . . . and it worked!
“The patient nursing mother cared for Cookie until she ran out of milk, which was the same time that we found a nursing mother dog in one of our foster homes to introduce Cookie to.
“Cookie is doing fantastically well with her third mother and her adopted puppy brothers and sisters, and all of this is because of the kindness and generosity of the worlds most fantastic cat!”
