If you are in Massachusetts, in the Brighton area, and are ready to open your heart to some whiskery-love, then you need to put this event on your calendar.  HOWEVER, if you are not in the vicinity, but still are looking for love, be sure to check out your local shelter and rescue and remember…ADOPT DON’T SHOP!
Seraphine’s name is derived from the Hebrew serafina, meaning “flaming fire.” An apt name for this lovely red 3-year old girl. Her previous owner says she chooses to become social on her own terms, but we find that when she is in the mood, she can turn into a lap cat! She has also lived with cats and dogs.

COME MEET (AND ADOPT) YOUR TRUE LOVE!
VALENTINE’S ADOPTION EVENT
 SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11
FROM 1-4PM
Looking to find true love?  This Valentine’s Day, give your love and your home to a cat.
Salinger is a shy and gentle cat who loves to play. He sometimes allows you to pet him, but will often will run as he is still very shy. Salinger is enrolled in Gifford’s Socialization Program for Shy and Fearful cats, designed to help give our under-socialized cats a chance at a permanent family and home. If you have any questions regarding this cat please feel free to get in touch with the shelter.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

We have many wonderful cats who are waiting to meet their families and move into their permanent homes.  In addition — we are discounting adoption fees for the event.

Nike is a handsome, declawed 11-year old male who had to be surrendered because a person in his household developed a cat allergy. Nike is in foster care because he loves being the only cat! Here, he enjoys being brushed, spoiled, and above all else sitting in laps! You can follow Nike’s adventures on his very own blog: http://fosterfur.blogspot.com/search/label/Nike Young, noisy kids frighten him, however, so he should go to a household without young children. He can get overstimulated and should live with experienced cat owners.

If you are interested in adoption, please fill out an adoption application as soon as possible. You will be contacted by a Gifford adoption counselor to discuss your specific situation and needs.

We take pride in knowing our cats very well, so we can advise you on which cats would be good in a quiet home, which ones are active & playful, which ones would love to join a family with children….

Snuffy is a 4-year old female who is a delightful mix of sugar and spice! She can be very affectionate, but is not shy about letting you know when she’s had enough petting. Snuffy should go to a home with an experienced cat owner and no other pets.

SunBeam is a 3-year old girl and her best friend, 2-year-old MoonBeam, would love to go home together. We are both adorable and sweet. SunBeam is slightly more adventurous, but MoonBeam will join in, I let her do everything first then I will join in. Don’t worry if you need to go to work; the girls will keep each other company until you return!
 ………………………………………………………………………………………………

Only approved applicants will be able to take home a cat that day — so please submit an application at least 5 days prior to the event.  Due to an expected high volume of applications, you need to submit your application in time to be approved.

Gordy is a one year old male who is sweet, but rather shy. He responds well to gentle attention and petting. He would do best with an owner who is experienced with handling shy cats and will be willing to work with him to build up his confidence.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Our adoption counselors will be working diligently to get all applicants screened prior to event date.

It is also advised to come to the event with a sturdy cat carrier.

Banjo is a sweet little 3 year-old female kitty who can be a little shy, but if you approach her gently she will chirp at you for attention! She enjoys being petted and brushed. She would do best in a quiet environment with an owner who is experienced with handling shy cats and will be willing to work with her to build up her confidence.
