Four kittens just days old were rescued when firefighters showed up at a controlled burn in Great Falls, MT in April. Now Pet Paw See, the foster and adoption organization caring for them, says they are almost ready for their forever homes.
My name is Marnie. I’m a beautiful Siamese mix girl. I was rescued from a fire by a fireman when I was 7 days old. I got a small burn on my back, but it is all healed now and I’m growing every day. My eyes are blue and my ears and tail are gray. I’m a quiet girl. My fur is fluffy and I have a soft purr. I just need to find my forever home.
Firefighters with the Gore Hill Volunteer Fire department responded to a call about a fire in Great Falls, MT one night toward the end of April when a neighbor, unaware that the fire was intentional, controlled, and sanctioned by a permit, became concerned.
Nine firefighters walked the perimeter of the fire until it dwindled; then, as they were preparing to leave the scene at about 11:30 pm, they heard meowing and discovered five kittens beneath a stump near the fire line. Four of the kittens were healthy, with only minor burns; the fifth later died. Mama kitty was never found.
One firefighter took the kittens home for the night and brought them to a local animal hospital the next day. The hospital contacted Pet Paw-See, a Great Falls based rescue, foster and adoption group well known in the area for their adoption appearances at Petco on weekends. Pet Paw-See member Rosanne Mares has fostered the kittens and says they will be ready to find their forever homes soon.

My name is Mango Jeri. I’m a female dark tabby with cream colors here and there. I was rescued from a fire by a fireman when I was 7 days old. I got a burn on my back, but all is good now. I love to be kissed and snuggle with my litter mates. I’m growing fast and will be ready for a loving home when I’m old enough.
My name is Mattie. I’m a male Siamese Mix. I’m going to be a big handsome boy when I grow up. I was rescued from a fire by a fireman when I was 7 days old. I’m very loud and I let everyone know I’m around. I’m going to be very energetic and full of fun. I lost the tip of my ear because of the fire (yeOW), but it hasnt slowed me down. Are you looking for a busy boy to love?
My name is Mollie. I’m a short-haired female Siamese Mix. I was rescued from a fire by a fireman when I was 7 days old. I got a small burn, but through love and care by my foster mom, all is good. I’m kind of busy, but also a little quiet. Are you looking for a pretty girl to love? I’ll be ready for adoption before you know it!

The kittens were about 7 days old when found, and are thought to have been born at the scene. They are about 5 weeks old at present. Fortunately, their injuries were minor and they are now all healthy, thriving kitties who can leave foster care and go to good homes soon. Pet Paw-See rescue has them listed for adoption at their website.

Awww-5 kittens born in the woods in MT get caught in a controlled burn. But, as fairly often, firemen save the day for 4 of them. Cute kids and good story.
I want to adopt a mix breed rescue kitten…
Please message me and tell me how I can get in touch with you all and find out about
Adoption. I am in Nashville Tn. 37220.
Misty – get it touch with your local Humane Society or other local rescue. It’s kitten season and most of them are overrun with kittens waiting for forever homes. 🙂
