Kitten who likes to travel in a backpack

Five-month-old kitten Higgs loves hitching a ride when his owners go for a walk — by jumping into a backpack. Little Higgs took his first steps outdoors while holidaying in the Scottish Highlands with owners Christian Witte and Kimia Mohammadi, of Glasgow, last month. But scared by the strong winds along the coastline of Sanna Bay, the little city-dwelling cat scrambled up Christian’s leg and onto his back before hopping into his rucksack.

Higgs the kitten is named for British physicist Peter Higgs. His self-described geeky scientist petparents, who are students at Glasgow University, got him around the time Peter Higgs received his Nobel prize in 2013.
