A terrified 6-month-old kitten was seen clinging to I-25’s median wall during rush hour. Luckily, someone called the Colorado State Patrol, which dispatched its best kitten wrangler, Trooper Thorne.

“Upon arriving to the scene, troopers witnessed the kitten hanging onto the median, too afraid to move,” according to the article in Our Community Now. “Trooper Thorne, reading the kitten’s signals, reached out to pet the cat and successfully grabbed it by the scruff, much like a mother cat would.”

The tortoiseshell kitten was taken to a neaerby full-service shelter, the Buddy Center, run by the outstanding Dumb Friends League in Castle Rock.

There she was found to be suffering from minor abrasions to her paws and nose. She is expected to make a full recovery. If an owner is not found, she will put her up for adoption. Thorne, who has another cat at home, is considering adopting the little kitten to keep his cat company.
