A small kitten in Chesapeake, West Virginia was rescued from a difficult-to-reach spot thanks to some creative thinking on the part of her rescuers.

Kitty was stuck in a pipe with a 90 degree bend that made it nearly impossible to free her. An Animal Control Officer noticed the kitten Wednesday and called on firefighters for help.

The firefighters came to the scene and used a shop vac to pull the kitten to safety.

Kitty was determined to be healthy and about 5 weeks old. She will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks, when she is old enough and big enough. She was nicknamed Rigid in a nod to the brand of shop vac used to save her.
