A woman with other special cats flew halfway across the US to adopt the kitten found frozen to a storm drain after being hit by a car in Sioux City, Iowa two weeks ago. Little Oliver has found his very special forever home.

Gail Bancroft lives in Bethesda Maryland with a cat who survived breast cancer and another who survived an acid attack. When her sister in Sioux City called to tell her about the kitten Gail flew out and adopted him. Oliver, as he is called now, had a leg amputated as a result of his ordeal.  Gail made a very generous donation to the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue when she adopted her new boy, who will surely have a very good home from now on.

  1. My cat was 3 years old and just lost his left hind leg when I adopted him. It was 10 years ago. We’ve been living happily together ever since. Neither him or my other cat ever cared about the missing leg. He always could jump or run around like crazy, still does 🙂
