Pitter Patter Animal Rescue, of Silver Lake, WI, just south of Milwaukee, is caring for a sweet and fluffy white cat named Henrietta, who was found frozen to water pipes on a farm late last month in below zero temperatures.
“A sweet little baby girl just trying to stay warm. She was close to death. All her limbs were attached in one way or another to this pipe,” the rescue group says, continuing, “A wonderful guardian angel thought nothing [of it] and started cupping water from a water trough to free this little baby. She succeeded but not without consequence. ”
One of Henrietta’s paws suffered frostbite to the degree that it required amputation. WVRC (Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center) has provided Henrietta’s medical care, and performed the amputation. The sweet kitty endeared herself to vet staff during her time there but she is already recuperating in foster care, where she is showing herself to be a loving lap cat.
Pitter Patter gave an update on Henrietta on February 1, saying: “She was up on all 3 walking around. She had her dinner. Ate dry food and had some Friskies wet food. She is now giving xxx and ooo to foster mom. She is falling a sleep and April (foster mom’s foster dog) is by her . She has her body on foster mom and her paw on Aprils face. ‘Guess this is how we are spending the night’, says furmom.”
You can see much more on Henrietta at the Pitter Patter Animal Rescue Facebook page.
Pitter Patter can use some help in covering the costs of Henrietta’s medical care and her daily needs during her recovery. They have set up a YouCaring.com fundraiser, but are just beginning to receive donations there. They would greatly appreciate any donations, or any help in sharing and networking Henrietta’s story and her fundraiser.
Here is the Helping Henrietta Heal fundraiser page at YouCaring.com. You can also access the fundraiser by clicking on the widget at the bottom of this post.
