Happy Birthday, Hobo!

Hobo the cat, for whom a Louisiana shelter was named, turned 25 Sunday.

Hobo Hotel Inc. in Lake Charles, Louisiana has been placing cats in loving homes for nearly 10 years. The shelter was named after a beautiful grey cat named Hobo who was born on April 3rd, 1986. Volunteers and friends (both human and feline) joined in wishing Hobo a very happy 25th birthday on Sunday. Hobo was gracious enough to share her tuna birthday cake with other cats at the Hobo Hotel. As for birthday gifts, Hobo received $1900 in donations to help care for the cats at the shelter currently awaiting adoption. Other presents included nearly 100 cans of cat food, Petco gift cards, several cat toys, and much-needed cleaning supplies. Happy birthday Hobo!

Nicky Westbrook

Nicky’s life with cats takes place in rural North Texas where she lives with three cats, two rats, one dog, two boys and a very patient husband.

When Nicky is not driving her children from one activity to another, she enjoys photography, playing piano and guitar (beginner) and creating videos for the family and for competition. Nicky holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Performance which as it turns out only means she is an experienced waitress (a skill set that comes in handy when one has animals and children).
