Good Samaritan Rescues Kitten from Car Engine

Dayton, Ohio TV station WHIO reported on a local rescue story today after a Good Samaritan rescued a kitten from a car engine after the the kitty went on a 5 mile ride trapped inside.

A woman who said she had seen a mother cat and her kittens near her car in the morning before leaving home heard meows coming from her car’s engine after she’d driven about 5 miles.

The woman stopped at the Early Beginnings childcare center in West Carrolton and called the police for help, but the Good Samaritan had the kitten safely out from the engine compartment before officers arrived.

Don Claggett, shown above holding the kitten, said it is the third kitten he has rescued from an engine in the last two weeks.

The rescuer said he planned to take the kitten to the vet to be checked out.
