Friday is a little burn survivor who surprised his vets with his determination to live, and went on to recover and find his forever home.
Friday is one of the candidates in the running for this year’s Pet Survivor award, to be given out by UK animal charity PDSA.
His story, in brief, is as follows:
Little Friday the cat is a real #PetSurvivor. He turned up at a vet practice in Nottingham having been severely scalded, and was underweight and dehydrated. Vets were unsure whether he would survive the night, but the little cat surprised everyone with his determination and fighting spirit. He underwent months of treatment with daily dressing changes, but happily Friday got the ‘forever home’ he always deserved as he was adopted by Rachel, a trainee vet nurse who was working at the practice. He’s now a very playful and cheeky little cat who loves cuddles with his brothers.
Thanks to his medical caregivers and his own strong spirit, Friday has overcome the injury and trauma he suffered and has moved on to a better life.
