Firefighters come to the rescue of a kitten in distress, once again!
A little kitten was lucky that someone heard his cries for help as he sat trapped in a car’s engine compartment at a McDonald’s restaurant in Sacramento, California last week.
The rescue took place on August 26 when kitty was heard meowing from somewhere inside the car and a call was made to the Sacramento Fire Department for help.
Firefighters opened the hood of the car and gathered around for the rescue. They pulled out the kitten, named him McNugget and transferred him to the Front Street Animal Shelter.
Kitty was given a medical evaluation, treated for fleas and placed in foster care. He will be made available for adoption when he is ready.
The Sacramento Fire Department posted a video from the rescue to Facebook on August 26, writing: “KITTEN RESCUE: The crew from Truck 16 removed a trapped kitten from the engine compartment of a car in a McDonalds parking lot today. McNugget was transported to the Front Street Animal Shelter, where he will be available for adoption after being medically cleared.”
Sharon Wager Wood is fostering McNugget and wrote in comments on the video post that day, saying: “I am the lucky one who happened to be at Front Street at just the right time! This little guy is one of my newest foster babies!! I can hardly wait to bathe him and see what he really looks like. He has beautiful blue eyes.”
