The moment was captured on camera as an Orange, California firefighter handed a woman her cat, who was rescued from an incredibly fierce fire at the woman’s home.

Flames were shooting through the roof when the Orange, California Fire Department responded to the house fire on Thursday, March 19, and the short video below, from the local NBC affiliate channel 4 news, shows the ferocious intensity of the fire. The fire department reported in a press release that the house was destroyed and the woman’s other cat, sadly, could not be saved.

The three displaced residents are being helped by neighbors and the Red Cross.
