Ann Arbor firefighters rescued a cat from the third floor of a burning apartment building in Ypsilanti Township, MI today.

A firefighter climbed a ladder to the 3rd story window where the cat was trapped just feet from the spreading flames. He broke the window and spent several minutes reaching inside before bringing the cat out and down the ladder to safety. A woman presumed to be the cat’s guardian was waiting on the ground.

WXYZ TV News captured the rescue from a hovering helicopter’s vantage point early this afternoon. Here is the raw helicopter footage video of the rescue.
