Reddit user I_speak_Australian posted these pics and explained a bit about Ernie’s rescue and recovery after being trapped behind a wall as a small kitten for a several days. In the course of a few months, Ernie went from a pathetic but sweet looking little figure to a healthy and hearty looking young cat.
I Speak Australian writes:
“Ernie the kitten was trapped in a wall for several days before being rescued. Over the past few months, I’ve been lucky enough to help document his recovery.
“He was rescued by an inspector with the help of a fire and rescue team who were able to cut a hole in the wall.
Once commenter asked: “Why is his paw in a cast in one shot and his head bandaged up in another?” to which I Speak Australian replied, “I’m not a vet, but I believe the cast was used to secure his IV for hydration. When Ernie was still stuck, his jaw was firmly pressed up against the wall, which resulted in an abscess (the swelling is visible in the first photo). That eventually burst – hence the bandages.”
[In the second photo, he is] a little older, but also much healthier. There’s a two-week gap between the first and second image, and a little under three months between the second and third image.
