Cosgrove the Sightless Kitten: Special but Not Handicapped

Adam Hevey created a video that demonstrates how beautifully sightless cats can adapt to their condition. Adam is fostering a 3 month old kitten named Cosgrove for the Albuquerque, NM Animal Shelter, and the kitten seems like any other in almost every way.

Cosgrove was born without eyelids or eyes, but is playful, affectionate and seems well aware of what’s going on around him. He recently had surgery to close up his eye sockets, which were irritated by fur rubbing inside of them. He will be looking good again when he heals from the helpful procedure.

The kitten is safe with Adam, who will give him a home until an adopter is found. Adam is taking inquiries from prospective adopters and can be reached at [email protected].

Below are Adam’s video with Cosgrove and a news story on the kitten from KOB Channel 4.
