Poor Clyde was dumped, abandoned on the side of the road in a cat carrier in severe weather conditions outside the Clyde Tunnel in Glasgow, UK.

A jogger discovered the frightened feline in a cat carrier next to the cycle path entrance around noon on Monday, January 12, and contacted the Scottish SPCA.

Kitty is now in the care of the SPCA’s Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Cardonald, where he has been aptly named Clyde. He is being helped to recover from his very upsetting experience, and will have a better life from now on.

Senior Inspector Billy Linton said, “Poor Clyde was left in the wind and rain without even a blanket to keep him warm. He was found at the north end of the tunnel and was terrified.

“Clyde is quite thin but is otherwise in good condition. He’s a really lovely wee cat and we’ll soon find him a new home where he’ll be treated with the care he deserves.”

The SPCA says that abandoning and causing an animal unnecessary suffering animal is an offense under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 and anyone found guilty of doing so can expect to be banned from keeping animals for a fixed period or life. They are asking anyone with information abot who dmped Clyde to contact them through their Animal Helpline.

  1. Thank God for the jogger who took the cat to the shelter. I pray that whoever left Clyde to be cold, scared and hungry gets caught and punished. I will never understand the need to abuse an animal. Hope that pretty cat gets a loving home.
