Last Thursday, a cat named Flint was stolen from the Dakin Humane Society in Springfield, Massachusetts. Thankfully, thanks to the presence of video cameras and some great work by local police, that stolen cat has been located and recovered.
Flint was stolen when two women walked into the shelter, hid him under their shirt, and fled. Their images were luckily captured by the building’s security cameras.
Northampton Police received numerous tips about the women’s identities and whereabouts. Police learned that the women were temporarily located in Northampton last Friday, but by the time they arrived the women had disappeared.
That isn’t the end of the story, though. After receiving more tips from community members, police were able to locate and rescue Flint, who went to the Springfield Police Department. Flint will be returned to the Dakin Humane Society.
It’s been quite the adventure for Flint, but hopefully he will be able to settle down in his forever home soon.
